In 2005 Luca Gnecchi Ruscone (L.G.R.) decided to go with his grandfather Raffaello Bini to Asmara to recover the family assets, seized during the Eritrean revolution of the 1970s. He couldn’t imagine that that trip would be the beginning of a new life adventure. C<\/span>rossed the threshold of Ottica Bini, one of the optical shops owned by his grandfather in Asmara, Luca discovers glasses dating back to the colonial period, imported from Italy fifty years earlier. <\/span>Enchanted by the charm, taste and elegance of the frames, Luca tracks down the artisans who originally participated in the production, thus giving life to a new artisan workshop.<\/span><\/p>\n The news spread quickly, sparking unprecedented demand for these sunglasses.
